Japan’s equities tumbled Wednesday on the back of a stronger yen, as
the Nikkei index fell 2.6% to close at 14,830.39, and the Topix index
slid 2.1% to 1,206.94.
The dollar was buying ¥102.865, lower than ¥102.95 late Tuesday.
Car makers declined, with both Toyota Motor and Honda Motor losing 2%, and Mazda Motor sank 3.1%.
