Crude-oil futures top $106 a barrel on Thursday, with the U.S. benchmark marking its highest close in almost nine months as unrest in Iraq intensified, raising concerns about potential disruptions to the nation’s oil supplies.
July crude oil CLN4 +0.35% , the U.S. benchmark, tacked on $2.13, or 2%, to settle at $106.53 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
Front-month Brent crude for July delivery UK:LCON4 +0.18% climbed $3.07, or 2.8%, to end at $113.02 a barrel on the ICE Futures exchange.
