Upbeat Chinese and European economic data briefly lifted oil futures above $106 a barrel on Tuesday, but prices settled slightly lower for a fourth session in a row ahead of weekly updates on U.S. supplies.
On the New York Mercantile Exchange, August oil CLQ4 +0.02% fell 3 cents to settle at $105.34 a barrel.
On the ICE Futures exchange, the August Brent contract UK:LCOQ4 +0.02% shed 7 cents, or 0.1%, to end at $112.29 a barrel.
