SGX Singapore Opening Market Update : Epic Research Singapore

SINGAPORE stocks opened one per cent lower on Monday after Wall Street suffered its worst five-day start to the year in history.

The Straits Times Index lost 26.98 points to 2,724.25 as at 9.00am with about 66.7 million shares worth S$35.9 million in total changing hands, which worked out to an average unit price of S$0.54 per share.

The most actively traded counter was Vard Holdings, which rose S$0.005 to S$0.230 with 20.6 million shares changing hands. Other actives included Noble Group and Albedo.

Losers outnumbered gainers 99 to 27, or about seven down for every two up.
